A Legacy of Innovation Since 1938
In 1938, furniture architect Josef Höner founded Musterring with a visionary idea — to unite industry, retail, and services into one seamless, effective community.
Despite a strong beginning, the Second World War brought operations to a halt. In the years that followed, Höner’s pragmatism prevailed, as he continued designing practical everyday products. It was only after the 1948 currency reform that Musterring was able to resume its journey.
In 1949, a pivotal gathering in Boppard reunited partners and set the foundation for future success. At this meeting, Josef Höner introduced the M49 model — a design that was met with great enthusiasm and marked the beginning of a new era.
The brand’s international expansion began in 1959, with its first retail partnership in Austria through Salzburg-based Harmath & Weilinger. This milestone marked the start of Musterring’s global presence.
From Heritage to Global Presence
In the decades that followed, Musterring continued to grow beyond Europe — forming a partnership with the Japan Furniture Sale Association (JFSA), and later expanding into Canada in 1972 with the development of a dedicated sales network.
